Hi, I'm Rachel
I’m an Independent Civil Celebrant based in Moseley, South Birmingham. I’ve lived in Birmingham for over 25 years and I’m proud to be an adopted Brummie! I love being part of the diverse, creative community of Moseley and Kings Heath.
I’m a big music fan – I sing in a local community choir, and I love going to gigs and festivals. I’m a primary school teacher by profession, so I have a lot of experience of planning and delivering to meet individual needs. I also dabble in stand-up comedy, so I’m used to working a crowd!
I offer wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. I also offer welcome ceremonies for adopted children and blended families, and renaming ceremonies, for example after gender transition or affirmation surgery.
My ceremonies will always be unique, sometimes quirky, but never dull!
What's my ceremony style?
My ‘style’ is whatever you want it to be. The whole point of choosing a celebrant-led ceremony is that it’s personal. It’s about you, not me.
Wherever and however you’re celebrating, I’ll adapt to suit you. Whether it’s a woodland glade, a country hotel or your local pub, I’ll deliver a unique, unforgettable ceremony. There are no rules, so you can be as creative and quirky as you like! Celebrant-led ceremonies lend themselves perfectly to themed weddings – circus, fairytale, goth, steampunk, rock ‘n’ roll – the possibilities are endless!
I’ll listen carefully to what you want, and I’ll follow your lead. If you want advice, I’ll give it. If you know exactly what you want down to the finest detail, I’ll work with that.

A celebrant-led ceremony has no rules; you can celebrate wherever, whenever and however you like! With that kind of freedom, I can help you to create a celebration to remember.
I’ll work closely with you, to create a unique ceremony all about you. If you want to, we can involve friends and family. Or if you’d prefer it to be just the two of you, I can do that too. I’ll liaise closely with other suppliers – such as your venue staff, stylists and photographer – to ensure we all make your day truly special.
What do I offer?
Weddings
My ideal couple will be madly in love, funny and creative. My favourite ceremony type is relaxed and fun, where the couple can really be themselves and can have space to enjoy those special moments. It’s important that all the guests feel part of it too – even if they’re just watching, I’d hope they feel really immersed in the occasion and will remember it for ever! I love outdoor weddings, so anything in the woods is right up my street!
My fee is £800. All couples ceremonies include: planning meetings, unlimited script revisions, ongoing telephone and email support, and a keepsake box containing a ceremony script and certificate.
The ceremony can include one or more symbolic actions such as a unity candle, sand ceremony or joining of hands. Once I’ve had the specialist training, I’ll be offering handfasting.

Naming Ceremonies
I offer naming ceremonies for babies, and welcoming ceremonies for adopted or step children.
I also offer renaming ceremonies, for example after gender transition or affirmation surgery.
I offer my services to anyone, regardless of race, religion, disability, gender, or relationship status,
My fee for a naming or welcome ceremony is £500. All naming and welcome ceremonies include: planning meetings, unlimited script revisions, ongoing telephone and email support, and a keepsake box containing a ceremony script and certificate.
The ceremony can include one or more symbolic actions such as a unity candle, sand ceremony or tree planting.

As a parent myself, I know how exhausting parenthood is! I’ll take the stress out of organising the day so you can enjoy your time as a family. I’ll work with you to plan a meaningful, memorable day. If you need it, I’ll help you to write the promises for you and other significant adults to make. If you need suggestions for readings and music, I have a whole host to choose from.
Renewal of Vows
My ideal couple would be still madly in love! They’ll have shared some amazing experiences together and will have had a rich and happy life together. I’d hope that they’d have some cool stories to share! They’ll know each other inside out, they’ll have weathered the storms, and they’ll still be side by side, looking to the future.
My fee is £800. Vow renewal ceremonies include: planning meetings, unlimited script revisions, ongoing telephone and email support, and a keepsake box containing a ceremony script and certificate.
A vow renewal ceremony can include one or more symbolic actions such as a ring re-dedication, sand ceremony, or tree planting.
