Hi, I'm Inga
Along with being a humanist celebrant in Iceland, I’m a project manager, karaoke enthusiast, drawer lyricist, scout and a mother to a fiver year old clone of mine. Active within Humanists Iceland, I serve as the president of the organisation, which is the sixth largest religious/lifestance organisation in Iceland. I ride my red bike to work, love frying halloumi and my Spotify playlists solely consist of Eurovision and musicals.
What's my ceremony style?
My ceremonies are lively, funny, and hopefully capture the core of who people are. I strive away from the pretentious, but can’t escape a good pun, or over-alliteration, and the story of the couple is my absolute forte. That’s where the interview with the couple becomes the foundation of the ceremony and the core that makes this humanist ceremony absolutely human; with everything that comes with it; the raw emotions and the awkward bits that make up journey. My ceremonies are humanist and thus non-religious in nature.

What do I offer?
Weddings
My ideal couple is an open minded, sincere and likes to laugh. I like nerds, and queer people, creative people and people who are absolutely head over heals in love. I want to tell the real story of your relationship, so people who don’t hold back on the awkward details, are the people who are going to get the most out of me. However, I also do a great ceremony for those who have a harder time sharing stuff with me and I will always put the same amount of effort into the ceremony. I don’t work with bigots. If you hate queer people or don’t think people should be equal, better look elsewhere.

Absolutely Amazing
Inga was absolutely amazing. We had an elopement ceremony with her in November of 2023 and we were blown away by her. To start, she scheduled time with us via zoom in advance to learn more about us and to prepare our vows. She communicated with us throughout the whole process, and even met up with us in Iceland the day before our ceremony to go over everything and just to chat and get to know us even more. With last minute change in location, she was flexible and showed up in the rain and mud for a quick hike to our destination. Words cannot express how amazing our ceremony was. Inga made it sound like she had known us forever, and even made meeting on a dating app sound romantic! Her ceremony was the perfect mix of humor and earnestness.
As a queer couple, we wanted to make sure that whoever was performing our ceremony was as loving and celebratory of our identities as we were, and Inga fulfilled that to a tee.
Overall, Inga was so fabulous and we would absolutely choose her again and again!
Inga Made our Marriage Ceremony Magical
It is impossible to describe how ideally suited Inga is to be a celebrant. Her warmth and good humor permeate everything around her. We arrived in Reykjavik exhausted after an overnight flight from the US. Inga met us at our hotel and guided us to a cozy coffee house where she proceeded to gently extract the story of our relationship from us. Her questions were so tender and insightful, we were both in tears as we recounted how we met and all the aspects of ourselves and each other that make us both so happy. It became clear as we talked that Inga was going to be the perfect celebrant for us. After our meeting, Inga walked us around Reykjavik with her red bike in hand. She left us at the “rainbow road” with a promise to see us before our ceremony.
The day of our marriage was amazing! We met Inga in front of the waterfall that was the setting for our ceremony. She had taken our jet lagged, tearful ramblings and turned them into a touching and beautiful expression of love that was perfectly crafted for the two of us. She led us through our marriage vows and the exchange of rings. She pronounced us married and shared our joy as we celebrated afterwards.
Inga has a unique ability to tell the story of a relationship with humor and affection that is truly remarkable. Her gift for making everyone around her comfortable and her easy going, sunny disposition help everything to flow smoothly. We feel so very lucky that we were able to have her with us on the day of our marriage.
Amazing and personalised wedding
I cannot think of a more perfect person to have performed our wedding.
We are from the UK and wanted a celebrant wedding near diamond beach. Inga was everything and more. She took the time to get to know us and make the ceremony perfect. We could not have put the words together any better ourselves.
Inga was extremely flexible with our plans, accommodated all of our needs and still we remember our wedding fondly with Inga playing a central role in it. Thank you for being amazing!
