Choosing the right person to plan and deliver your ceremony is of course important so here’s a little about me, Diana Wilkinson.
I love tradition. I’m also fond of the quirky and unusual but most importantly, I believe your ceremony should be as individual as you are. It’s your ceremony and with an independent celebrant, the possibilities really are endless!
I have always been captivated by the power of ceremonies to bring people together. I realise the profound impact these events have on people’s lives. The joy, the tears, and the shared emotions are transformative. As a celebrant, I play a pivotal role in crafting and conducting ceremonies that not only mark significant milestones but become cherished lifetime memories. Being a celebrant is an absolute honour and I love it.
I cover all the counties surrounding North Yorkshire. Based in Scarborough, travelling is no problem. I can’t wait to meet you!

If you want to express your creativity through your ceremony, I’ll guide you. Your ceremony should be memorable and deeply meaningful, a ceremony that will be cherished for years to come.
I love to include special elements (there’s no extra charge) such as handfasting (tying the knot), or maybe a rose ceremony, but the best bit is adding in extras that are unique and personal to you. So whether it’s romantic, traditional, themed or alternative, it’s no problem! Together, we’ll make it one-of-a-kind.

What do I offer?

I’m Diana, an independent, fully qualified celebrant.
I will listen to your hopes and dreams, hear your love story and weave it into a very special ceremony. I’m very happy to include symbolic elements such as handfasting (tying the knot) but the best bit is adding in the extras that are unique and personal to you. Of course, your ceremony is a blank canvas until I’ve met you to chat, plan and guide you through the details. Meetings usually take place in person, but they can be virtual if that works better. We’ll discuss the many special touches that can be added to make your wedding ceremony the best it can be!
My fees are clear and once you have agreed to appoint me as your celebrant, you simply secure your date with an initial fee (included in the price I quote), then relax…. as I research, plan and craft your unique ceremony. My package includes meeting with you personally to hear your love story and discover your personalities and values that I’ll weave seamlessly into your ceremony. I’m passionate about crafting a bespoke and personalised experience. Whether it’s simple or elaborate, romantic, traditional, themed or alternative, it’s no problem at all! I start with a free initial discussion so that you can ask questions and decide if I’m the right celebrant to plan and deliver your dream ceremony.
On the big day, I will arrive early to ensure everything is in place for you. It will be a ceremony you’ll remember forever.
Naming Ceremonies
Bringing a child into your family is one of the most magical moments of anyone’s life. A Naming Day or Welcoming Ceremony is an opportunity to name and/or welcome a baby, child, adopted child or stepchild/children into the family.
A non-religious alternative to a traditional christening or baptism, it is an opportunity to gather your family and friends to witness the child being named and/or welcomed. Please note that the ceremony has no legal standing.
Having a Naming Party/Ceremony provides a perfect opportunity for parents to make commitments and promises. Grandparents and other supporting adults can also make pledges to support your child’s development. Other children and adults can also take part in the ceremony.
As a fully qualified, independent celebrant, I will create a personalised ceremony and deliver it on the day. It can include anything you like, such as poems, readings, and symbolic or special elements, such as a sand, rose or pebble ceremony. My fees are clear and a deposit secures your date.
A Naming Ceremony can also be carried out for adults who wish to mark an important milestone, transition or blend families together. Simply get in touch to discuss your needs.

Renewal of Vows
Would you like to renew the vows and promises you made when you were legally married or when you entered into a civil partnership? Perhaps you’d like to mark a special occasion, such as a 1st or 10th wedding anniversary? A Vow Renewal Ceremony is a beautiful way to celebrate and reaffirm your commitment to each other.
When you renew your wedding vows, the ceremony can be as intimate or grand as you like. It should reflect your unique relationship. You can have it wherever you like and include whatever you wish, such as vows, handfasting and poems. Take a look at the special elements on my website for ideas.

I’m an independent, fully qualified celebrant based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. I cover all the surrounding areas, such as Whitby, York, Pickering, Bridlington, Humberside, East Riding, Northumberland, Teesside, Redcar and Cleveland, plus parts of West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Lancashire. I am also happy to travel further.

Safe hands
