Yesterday we said goodbye to my father, an experience I had extremely mixed emotions about and had been somewhat dreading.
The only thing that made it easier was our wonderful celebrant, Ally Law.
I met Ally at a local hotel to discuss the content of the service a couple of weeks ago. She was friendly and made me feel instantly at ease. She was almost larger than life with her great personality and wonderful people skills. Her abundant knowledge of the subject and her kind words and approachable manner made the process so much easier. I felt like I was with an old friend. One with great empathy and listening skills. She understood the need for diplomacy and I felt I could trust her explicitly
I wasn’t wrong! She understood and guided me through difficulties with my family and although it didn’t happen, I felt assured she could ‘be relied upon to calm the situation down if it became heated.
The service itself was perfect. She remembered all the little details I’d given her and talked humorously and delicately about a man who was extremely difficult.
To be honest ,I found it hard to say anything great about him but she managed to coax out those hidden memories and joyful times I’d spent with my dad and always used respect and showed interest in listening to the stories, good and bad.
Everyone loved the service and felt drawn to this lovely, personable woman and my family kept saying how kind and considerate she was at a difficult time for all of us
I myself felt supported and understood by this earth angel who came into my life at the worst time for me and held my hand reassuringly all the way
Thank you Ally, you’ve made me believe that there are people in this world who are willing to put themselves out for others. Your kind heart and kind words will stay with me a long time
I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with a service of any kind and I will be recommending her to all I know.
