We cannot thank you enough Janice for your attention to detail, your creativity and for going above and beyond to create our Winter Wedding Ceremony. You made our little ceremony so meaningful and we will be forever grateful for your suggestions on enhancements and readings. You thought of absolutely everything, blankets to keep out the chill, hot chocolate for the kids and a hot toddy for myself and himself! The involvement of our children with the Hand Fasting Ceremony was something we never considered and it was absolutely beautiful. Thank you Janice from the bottom of our hearts!

Janice O'Callaghan

Hello, my name is Janice O'Callaghan. I am a professional ethical celebrant. I am a member of the Irish Institute of Celebrants (IIOC) and I am both a trained wedding and funeral celebrant. I have trained in many family and spiritual ceremonies and continue to work with the IIOC in writing courses and public speaking platforms.I have a background in the performing arts, I was a member of The Monforts School of speech and drama and also Cada.I have awards for both writing and public speaking and have over twenty years experience in event management and the hospitality industry.I decided to become a wedding celebrant because I quite literally love, love and I love working with people to make their dreams a reality. I get to meet amazing couples, hear their beautiful stories and create a dream bespoke ceremony for them. Some people are full of ideas and others do not know how to express their inner feelings, but don't worry even if I do say so myself, I am creative and full of ideas and will guide you all the way.I will work closely with you to make sure your ceremony is unique and written with you both in mind.Your love story is written from the beginning, sometimes including heart stopping and beautiful memories. We will work together to ensure you're completely happy and fully confident that your ceremony is exactly what you want and unique to you and your family. Some examples of ceremonies I perform would be: - Celtic Knot/Hand binding ceremonies - Unity Candle ceremonies - Wine box ceremonies - Sand ceremonies - Lock box ceremoniesTo name but a few!Speaking of families, in today's society, families can be blended and varied and I can create the perfect ceremony to reflect this. Some couples like a nod to religion with a prayer or a spiritual reading included and others like it playful and fun with their children involved.Whatever your choice, I'll work with you to make it your perfect bespoke wedding.LEGALAs a celebrant, I cannot legally marry you, this must be done by a HSE Solemniser. To be legally married in Ireland, you must file a notification of marriage three months before it is solemnised by HSE solemniser. There is a fee of approximately €200 and you will get your "marriage licence". You will then arrange a time and date within six months of getting your "licence " and go to the HSE Registry Office with two witnesses and sign the registrar. It takes about fifteen minutes and is basically a sworn statement. Then you will have a beautiful, romantic ceremony with a celebrant like me.
