When we lost our beloved daughter Daisy suddenly we had no idea how we would ever get through her funeral….I could not even bear to start to organise and think about it.We were then put in touch with the amazing Vanessa via a mutual friend and everything changed in the blink of an eyelid.Vanessa came to the Children’s Hospice where we were all staying with Daisy and we sat for hours talking about Daisy, our other children, Daisy’s twin brother and all the things that we remembered so fondly about Daisy during her short life. The moment we met Vanessa we knew instantly she was the celebrant we wanted to tailor make Daisy’s funeral into the unique celebration of life that we wanted. I explained to Vanessa I didn’t want a traditional funeral, Daisy was unique and I wanted her day to be something we would remember in a positive, happy way rather it be a sad occasion. We wanted the ceremony and buriel to be as child friendly as it possibly could be due to our other children being quite young. Vanessa explained we could have and do what we wanted and she would make the service exactly how we wanted it to be and would help us with ideas as we were really struggling.Vanessa took on board our desires and ideas and she went away to pull it all together.Communication between Vanessa and ourselves was brilliant, she put all her ideas to us and it was like she just knew us…Daisy and our family! She was spot on with everything…I’m sure she secretly knew Daisy! What we anticipated to be the worst day of our lives actually turned out to be very special and one we will remember forever due to Vanessa and the amazing services she did for Daisy, we laughed, shed tears, sang and blew bubbles as we remembered Daisy.Daisy rode her final journey in a carriage pulled by two white horses, we released Doves at her graveside and sprinkled glitter onto her “special box” Vanessa’s words, poems and readings were perfect…down to the very fine detail.Vanessa did Daisy and us so proud that day, I could not have asked for a better ceremony. All our family and friends commented on what a beautiful, unique and personalised ceremony it was, no one had ever been to a funeral like Daisy’s….in a barn, sat on hay bales, with the barn decorated in Daisy’s memory. We would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone wanting a celebrant, for a bespoke ceremony, tailored personally to your requirements, Vanessa will not fail to provide you with exactly what you want. Such a lovely lady, who is very empathetic and wants to make your day as special as she possibly can do..Thank you Vanessa for everything xx
