Where do I even begin?! Angie from Getting Married in Scotland is simply brilliant!!!!!!

From the very first email I sent only just a few months before the date we had in mind, Angie was very quick to respond with informative and friendly responses. She helped with EVERY aspect and offered suggestions from everything to potential musicians we might hire, to ideas for the ceremony and all the little details.

My husband Cameron and I had a very small, outdoor ceremony at Loch Morlich in the Scottish Highlands – which was absolutely beautiful. We came across Angie when we first discovered Celtic handfastings were a thing whilst watching Outlander. I know – cliche.

Angie helped us understand the fine differences between the different types of handfastings we could have, and helped us tailor our own ceremony to fit our spiritual beliefs which are quite eclectic. We ended up having a very unique ceremony using vows and blessings from spiritual practices around the world, many that were suggested to us by Angie. She is very resourceful and helpful!!

We had a beautiful hand-tying ritual and included smoke cleansing using sage. Angie was so kind to supply the sage and other tools used in our ceremony. She honestly thought of everything!

To be more specific, responses to our emails were extremely quick – usually within the same day and Angie always put thoughtful and detailed answers into her responses to our many questions. We also had several Skype calls to get to know each other and determine what we wanted. The price is very reasonable considering the level of service Angie provided, and she was happy to travel to us. She also helped as much as she could in the legal aspect of our wedding, and gave me tips to help me with the registry office as I’m a non-British citizen.

On the day, it was extremely windy and cold but alas! Angie of course was prepared and offered me a lovely, warm shawl to borrow for the day. We unfortunately couldn’t invite many of our friends and family to our ceremony due to the virus, and due to my family being in Australia. Because of this, we are planning to have another ceremony (hopefully later this year) to include our family and enjoy a reception. So we will definitely be hiring Angie again!!!!
