The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants
Hi, I'm Lou
“It’s all in the storytelling…”
Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile! With a background in theatre, arts and entertainment, both on and off stage, I always wondered if a career as a celebrant would work for me. So I trained with the wonderful Fellowship of Professional Celebrants. I’m originally from Surrey but moved to Whitstable on the North Kent Coast in 2011 and I now adore walking my gorgeous westie; Bobbi on the seafront and then winding up consuming the local delicacy of oysters, washed down with a good, cold Kent beer! When I’m not standing in front of guests at a wedding, I am standing in front of music lovers, as I also go out and sing. I am also so lucky enough to have my own show ‘Mellow Mondays’ on Whitstable Bay Radio every Monday evening, which is so much fun! And when I am not doing that, I am cleaning the house…
What's my ceremony style?
I lead with my heart and walk alongside you, whatever journey you’re on, to create a meaningful ceremony that puts the story at the centre of the day.
Theatre is essentially storytelling. And those stories can evoke emotions in an audience that can take them by surprise. As an actor, you take your audience on a journey and share all the wonderful parts of that journey. That’s exactly what I do with my ceremonies. We create and then share moments of joy, love, healing and contentment and they give meaning and depth to us, and have done so for many generations.
Plus, ceremonies that are filled with hilarious stories to raise and smile or laugh, can make your event so very special.
“I love this job. But it doesn’t feel like a job. And I like that feeling…”
Why choose Lou?
I offer creative storytelling with love, joy, care and compassion, that captivates and evokes the true meaning of life’s milestone moments.

Why choose Lou for your wedding?
Creating a wedding ceremony with couples is an honour and a joy. Placing your love story at the heart of the ceremony is the key to capturing and crafting the perfect day. With the freedom and flexibility to take the ceremony on its own path unique to the couple, is what makes a celebrant led ceremony memorable and magical.
Each element that can be used, whether it is vows, poetry, pictures, stories, music, readings and rituals and of course innovative and inspiring locations, can combine together to create a ceremony that captivates and evokes the true meaning of love.
Why choose Lou for your naming ceremony?
The gift of life is truly wonderful. The birth of a new baby is one of life’s moments that we cherish. And to open your arms and welcome a new child into your family is precious.
So if you would like to mark this beautiful time, with a unique ceremony that welcomes your new child, either from birth or adoption, then I would be honoured to help you.
Together we’ll create an innovative, meaningful ceremony for you, surrounded and supported by your loving friends and family.
Renewal of Vows
Why choose Lou for your renewal of vows?
Celebrating our love is something we do every day by loving the person we choose in life. For those who wish to mark their union further down the line, a renewal of vows is the perfect way to celebrate love’s journey.
Bringing together friends and family and declaring your continued commitment and sharing your love story with those around you can make for a beautiful ceremony.
Why choose Lou for your funeral?
I will work with you to have your loved one’s life captured and celebrated in a joyful, thoughtful and inspiring way. Writing about a life lived is truly an honour for me but it is also an opportunity for you as family and friends to share your grief, laugh, cry and remember your family member with fondness and love.
With care and compassion, I take you through the process of creating a one-of-a-kind ceremony where we can weave a tapestry of words, music, poetry and pictures, to create an authentic and healing ceremony, that truly reflects that person’s life.
I offer Full Ceremonies, Graveside Committals and Interment/Scattering of Ashes.

Warmth, Authenticity and Good Humour
Louise was our celebrant at our wedding at the Lost Village of Dode on 1st April, and we couldn’t be happier. Louise took time to understand our unique ‘story’ and her interest comes from a place of deep authenticity and a commitment to get the details right. Our ceremony was wonderful, a true reflection of ‘us’, and we have Louise to thank for this. Louise crafted a narrative around our own written vows that beautifully captured the essence of our relationship, sharing anecdotes that held the room, very much delivered in a way that was clearly heartfelt. I couldn’t recommend Louise more. Whatever your ceremony, you’re in very safe hands with Louise and Kent Creative Ceremonies.
Our Woodland Wedding
Thank you very much Lou! You have been understanding, professional, and frankly, a delight from start to finish, you performed celebrant and master of ceremony duties on our wedding day in the woods.
Meeting us several times, a couple of months before our special day, you took the time to collect our and our families background stories, to not just run through the vows, but to give a wonderful story to the congregation of our past meetings and journey so far.
We could not have wished for a better celebrant to provide an exceptional ceremony. Your suggestions with other ideas to help our day go smoothly were very welcome, as was all your support. To anyone who wants their own bespoke wedding ceremony we would recommend you every time. Should we ever require any of your other varied services, you will be our first choice. Again, thank you so much!”
Our Wonderful Wedding!
We live in Thailand, so organising a wedding from abroad has certainly been interesting. Having landed back in England with 13 days until the big day, we decided just 7 days before the wedding that we wanted a celebrant and I gave my husband the challenge of finding one.
What an incredible find when he found Lou. We only met Lou once before our wedding and she was warm, kind and professional. I honestly felt like we had known her for years. When she carried out the ceremony, Lou spoke with passion and elegance. She told our love story in her own special way and there were lots of happy smiles, laughter and tears.
Lou has a natural ability to understand people and we connected with her instantly. We could not be happier with Lou as our celebrant and she made the ceremony so heartfelt and personal. We cannot recommend her highly enough.
