Hi, I'm Gaynor
I love ceremony, all kinds of ceremony from welcoming a new life into this world, officiating the marriage of two hearts coming together, renewing those vows, saying goodbye to a loved one.
As an Interfaith celebrant officially ordained by the OneSpirit Foundation I welcome us all as human beings, the unique beings we are, with all our different beliefs, religious, non-religious, spiritual, all genders no gender.
I am happy to travel and love working outdoors as well as in some of Scotland’s beautiful venues.

What's my ceremony style?
I certainly do not take myself too seriously, I like to have fun; I think fun, laughter and engagement bring their own richness into ceremony. But on the flip side I also like my ceremonies to have depth and meaning. We are there to honour and witness a beautiful moment in life and that’s serious stuff. So, my style is carefully balanced between, mirth and meaning. I enjoy bringing ritual to ceremonies, see my website for more information regarding handfasting’s etc.
I am as happy being outside with 2 people as being inside with lots of guests and I like to involve those guests and make them part of it too.

I love a good wedding, the fun the celebration such a happy day, but I know how to bring the room down to that sacred moment when you say your vows, make those promises and all your favourite people are there to watch and witness. That moment you step over a threshold never to be the same.
As an ordained Interfaith minister, who embraces all faiths and no faith I am authorised to carry out the legal aspect of your ceremony as well as honouring you both as you enter into marriage. It will be a day of love and joy that we have created together a day you will
Naming Ceremonies
When a new life comes into this world it is cause for celebration, it brings hope joy and love.
By celebrating the naming of this child, we give the child its place in our community, we offer the promises we intend to keep, and we commit as a community to care love and guide this child on his or her journey. It is said it takes a village to raise a child and a baby naming is the gathering of this child’s village. And of course, it can also be fun.
PS I do not put pictures of children on my social media so you will not see any Baby naming photographs.

Why a baby naming? Well I believe that every new life brings hope, change, new beginnings and what better way of helping a new baby than setting intentions early. Making promises that you intend to keep. Create the community that will support , guide and love your child.
Giving this little human a name , an identity that will allow him, her, they, take their place in this world until such times they make their own decisions.

Renewal of Vows
Vows are living things and can change over time, and I have a great appreciation of this. Perhaps you want to renew the vows you originally made, or perhaps life has given you both some challenges and you want to make new vows to each other. Whatever the reason vow renewals are wonderful ceremonies that can be a big celebration or a small intimate affair, that are beautiful and very meaningful, they are one of my favourite ceremonies.
Together we can make this fun and joyful, with depth and appreciation, it will be a very special day.

There are many reasons why you may have chosen to renew your vows. I am here to help you make it a moment of magic, a moment of the deepest meaning.
However long you have already been married you are not new to this, you have experienced much together and I will honour your journey, as we mark this threshold of stepping into tomorrow supported by the vows and promises you are about to make to each other.
This is not a marriage this is reaffirming everything you are to each other. I get it I really do.

Funerals
Unfortunately many of us leave arranging a funeral until it needs to be arranged. We hand everything over to the funeral director who normally chooses a celebrant for you. Some are very good and will take time and match you with a celebrant, others just use their favourites, so choosing your own celebrant is very liberating and more people are realising the importance of this. No one would be told what celebrant to use for a wedding after all.
I offer very personal services and like to celebrate the life of your loved one.
It is such an emotional time when we lose a loved one, grief is the master of disguise showing up as so many different emotions.
I understand and am there to guide you through. I like to give a very personal ceremony and tell your loved ones story. If they were of faith I am happy to include religious aspects within the ceremony. If they held no faith we play their favourite songs, but either way I make it very person centred.
I visit the family and we chat for however long it takes for me to get to know the person who has passed, and once I have written the service I always send it to the family for approval.
We only get to do this once, so I take great care to get this right for those saying goodbye and those who are leaving us.

Unhurried and Personal
We both can not recommend Gaynor enough the time and effort she took to truly know us as individuals and as a couple shone through in our ceremony. It was very personal, Gaynor has a beautiful presence that makes everyone and everything feel so relaxed. It felt unhurried and the way she told our story made the day very special.

Gaynor lead the service for my father’s cremation and a more personal service you would be hard pushed to find gaynor captured the essence of my father and this was commented on by friends and family who attended. gaynor was professional, friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable.
I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a celebrant.

We were in Edinburgh for our silver wedding anniversary and were looking for a celebrant to guide us through a small and very personal ceremony. Because we are from Germany, we searched the net and found out that there are a lot of celebrants in the city who specialize in wedding and wedding renewals.
We were immediately very impressed by Gaynor’s personal way of seeing us as a couple but also as individual personalities.
Above all, Gaynor has a great sense for the right words and she knows how to weave in little stories and entertain everyone. Rests in the right places, perfect intonation, highly professional and yet spontaneous – that’s how we were able to experience her work.
From the first contact via video call to the completion of the photos, Gaynor was incredibly friendly and approachable. She responded to all our wishes and ideas, supplemented with her ideas and was a true inspiration for us.
We are so happy and grateful that she accompanied us on such an emotional day. She has managed to make the memories almost even better than the event itself.
