Hi, I'm Orla
I am a registered Solemniser and Celebrant with Entheos (www.entheos.ie). I work full time providing inclusive legal weddings, funerals, baby welcoming, vow renewals and milestone ceremonies, 7 days a week. When I decided to become a Celebrant, Entheos stood out as the right place for me. They are authentically inclusive and fit with my values and what I want to provide in the world of ceremony. People can include whatever they wish in their ceremony, whether they follow a particular faith path or not. It’s such a privilege to be part of some of the biggest events to happen in people’s lives.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to feel supported and know that I have everything under control, for whatever type of ceremony you are looking to hold.
What's my ceremony style?
I lived abroad for many years and experienced numerous diverse cultures. It gave me a broader understanding of the world and a greater appreciation for different perspectives. I want to bring that open mindset to all my ceremonies and provide what people really want, without any constraints. I also have a son who’s autistic and he has taught me a whole new way of viewing the world, when I view it through his eyes.

What do I offer?
Weddings
I love a wedding ceremony that truly reflects the couple and their life together. Whether you are having a small intimate wedding or a bigger gathering of your family and friends, the wedding ceremony should include exactly what you want. Any spoken words (readings, poems, lyrics) or enhancements (e.g. handfasting, unity candles, remembrance candles, sand ceremony, ring warming, wine box ceremony etc.) should have meaning and significance to you and I can talk you through all of the options to find the best fit for you.
If you would like your love story included in detail or you would just like to mention some key aspects of your life together, this can all be incorporated into your ceremony, whichever way you like.
I have a one wedding per day policy, so you have my undivided attention and commitment on the day of your wedding. I perform wedding ceremonies 7 days a week. I’m a legal solemniser, so can carry out the legal part of your wedding on the same day, as part your ceremony. My cost of €600 includes crafting your personalised ceremony, carrying out whichever enhancements you want to include, full legal solemnising and unlimited meetings, phone calls and correspondence in the lead up to your wedding. The only additional cost is mileage outside of Cork city.

Naming Ceremonies
A baby naming ceremony is such a special way to bring your family together to welcome a new arrival into your life, in whatever way they became part of your life. There are many ways that you can personalise the ceremony to represent what’s important to you. Enhancements to the ceremony also allow you to include others in the ceremony, be that friends and family or other children. You could include a candle ceremony to symbolise the new light in your life. A remembrance candle to honour those who cannot be there on the day. Select poems, readings or music that have meaning to you. Choose Guide Parents or guardians who can make their promise to the child, along with your own promises and wishes that you have for them. I will weave any enhancements into the ceremony, along with celebrating their name and their story.
Baby naming ceremonies can be carried out any day of the week, in any location of your choice. My cost of €250 includes crafting your personalised ceremony, carrying out any enhancements you want to include and all meetings and correspondence in the lead up to the ceremony. The only additional cost may be mileage.

I love working with families to create a personalised and memorable baby naming ceremony, to bring a family together to celebrate the new arrival into their lives. I have a son who’s autistic and understand the challenges and stress that can come with organising a ceremony which includes a child/children who are neurodivergent. I can work closely with you to create a ceremony with their needs in mind, in a neuro affirmative way.
Renewal of Vows
Couples carry out a vow renewal for several reasons. To celebrate a milestone anniversary, after a time of serious illness or to bring a family together to celebrate their love. A vow renewal can be a small intimate ceremony with just the couple, or it may be a bigger gathering of your family and friends. The couple can say the same vows they said on their wedding day or they may decide to write their own updated vows. They can also include readings, poems, music and enhancements (e.g. handfasting, unity candles, remembrance candles etc.), that have the most significance to them. They may also want to include other family members in their ceremony. I will talk you through all of the options and will write your ceremony, including details of your love and life together.

Funerals
We have many celebrations during our lives and I believe that it’s just as important to celebrate and commemorate somebody when they have passed. It’s such a privilege to be part of a funeral ceremony, where I can work closely with the family to take some of the stress and burden from them, during such a difficult time. I will work with you to write a ceremony befitting of the person’s life and ensure the ceremony represents their true self. I can help you to choose readings, poems and music. A funeral ceremony offers a time to share memories and comfort each other, while celebrating the person’s interests, achievements and impact they made during their life.
If someone is in an end-of-life situation, I’m happy to meet with them to go through the ceremony and what their wishes are.
Funerals can be carried out any day of the week. They may take place in a funeral home, at a crematorium or non-religious graveside. My cost of €250- 280 includes crafting your personalised ceremony and all meetings and correspondence in the lead up to the ceremony. Orla made the entire experience so special.
I got in touch with Orla when we began preparing for our little girl’s Naming Day. Orla was incredibly warm, welcoming, and made the entire experience so special. She took the time to get to know us and our little girl, and created a ceremony that was both personal and meaningful. Her guidance and support throughout the process made everything so easy and stress-free.
No one could have done it better!
We were fortunate enough to have Orla as our wedding solemniser in July of this year. She made the entire planning process feel effortless from start to finish and responded to all of our ideas (some of which were a little atypical) with creativity, flexibility and a great spirit of open-mindedness, not to mention good humour. Her organisational abilities are exceptional, as is her attention to detail, and she is also a talented listener and reader of people, the result of which was that she struck exactly the right tone on the day and managed to capture perfectly the story of who we are both as people and as a couple.
