Hi, I'm Laura
A proud and passionate Scot, I made my home in the Highlands of Scotland so I don’t have to go far to find something that makes my heart glad.
Very much at home in the great outdoors I am a keen hill walker and skier. We have some of the most accessible and spectacular scenery in the world and I love being able to show people all the best bits. My life has revolved around the history, folklore and stories of Scotland and I love to weave those to create unique, authentic ceremonies.
Becoming a Celebrant felt like a natural career progression for me. It incorporates many of the skills that come naturally to me. I have always regarded myself as a compassionate individual who finds it natural to want to help others. I am empathetic and find it natural to be understanding of all, even when they hold ethics life styles and beliefs that differ from my own.

Why choose Laura?
I believe that ‘one size does not fit all’ when marking the big milestones of life. Celebrations of these milestones should be as varied and diverse as the people who want to mark them. Being a Celebrant allows me to be of service to all the beautiful, diverse and creative individuals in this world. I am a member of the Scottish Pagan Federation so should you wish to include a little or a lot of of any of your belief systems in your celebrations , it’s all fine with me. I will weave it all together to make a ceremony as unique as you.
What do I offer?

A wonderful, warm celebrant
Laura is a wonderful wedding celebrant and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
From our first, relaxed meeting with Laura at a local cafe, we knew she was the one. We were a bit clueless and didn’t really know where to start. Laura put us at ease and had plenty of great suggestions, while sharing her experience of what tends to work well. Laura also guided us through the paperwork and formalities involved when getting married.
Laura is organised, warm and a great listener. She captured our story, our love for each other and the outdoors so perfectly. She designed a beautiful ceremony, which far exceeded our expectations. Laura brought such a fun and relaxed energy to the ceremony which really set the tone for the rest of the day. She incorporated special traditions such as hand fasting and an oathing stone, elements that we will always treasure.
Laura you are made to be a celebrant. Thank you for everything! ❤️
Our nature loving celebrant
Destiny. That is the only possible way to describe our time with Laura. In less than two months we had to plan our hand-fasting ceremony in Scotland from the other side of the pond in Canada. We reached out to Laura and after a few discussions we knew we had the right person. She gave us two options for a location as she knew how important it was that we be outside among nature and the history of Scotland and she guided us to what became OUR location. She understood our need to be among the gods and spirits and created a wonderful, heart-warming ceremony that surely made them weep. She took the time to create an altar of the elements to help guide our wonderful day as well. Laura even traveled to our Airbnb the night before to go over everything with us because she is dedicated to her craft and is a friendly and kind-hearted person. All-in-all, the person you want for your special day. I know the next time we are in Scotland, I will be ringing her up to grab a gin.
Idyllic Lochside Vow Renewal
From the start, we knew Laura was the right celebrant for our vow renewal – she wasn’t phased at all by the short notice. When we first spoke on the phone, her openness and cheerfulness put our minds at ease and she explained everything clearly, from the traditional hand tying to the oath stone. When we met her, the day before we renewed our vows, our first impressions were what a warm, genuine and caring person she is. Laura listened to us and helped us make final decisions, adding some fantastic suggestions to make our day special and making everything work out just right.
We wanted a very simple, no frills, loch side ceremony and she went above and beyond to ensure we had the just the right setting and arranged things so it felt so personal and intimate (she even made sure it didn’t rain!). Hearing our daughter playing her fiddle as we walked down to the lochside and then standing exchanging words/vows will stay with us forever – a few emotional tears!
If we renew our vows in another 25 years, we won’t hesitate to call on her again!!
Thank you Laura, you made it so special and personal.
