Hi, I'm Libby
I am Libby Clark, a Qualified Modern Day Celebrant. I specialise in beautiful, bespoke Weddings, Renewal of Vows and Naming Ceremonies. I live in Derbyshire, very close to both South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire borders with my husband and 2 pet hens. My pride and joy is my daughter who is currently studying at Oxford University.
I have over 30 years experience in public speaking and am one of life’s cheerleaders, becoming qualified as a Celebrant to spread a little joy. I love beautiful things including heartfelt words and exquisite acts. I am an avid reader and I like to turn my hand to expressing my thoughts via the written word. I also enjoy keeping fit and can often be found in the gym, or partaking in outdoor pursuits.
What's my ceremony style?
I am often described as eloquent, fun loving and charismatic. I love nothing more than tearing up the ‘rule’ book and giving my customers exactly what they want.
I can help write vows, choose music, readings or how about conducting a symbolic ritual to inject drama, depth or fun into your ceremony?
There are no archaic rules or content constraints in my ceremonies, which means that yours can be a truly unique, bespoke affair like no other.

I do not like to complicate things. My wedding package includes:
At least two face to face meetings, after the initial meeting, this will change accordingly if the wedding is booked more than. a year in advance.
A fact finding (but fun) questionnaire so we can make sure your script is full of delicious detail.
A bespoke and unique script.
Help if required, to create your own vows/promises.
Help if required to find appropriate readings/music
A symbolic ritual if required.
A rough draft copy of the ceremony, to ensure you are completely happy with the script.
Wedding rehearsal.
Delivery of the script on the day of your wedding.
Wedding Ceremony Certificate if required.
A copy of your love story, readings and wedding certificate in a presentation folder, after the ceremony.

Renewal of Vows
Could there be anything more romantic than a renewal of vows? Anyone wishing to renew their vows in a heartfelt or fun filled way are my ideal couple. Family, friends, children and pets all included!

Funerals
As an Independent celebrant, I create a totally bespoke ceremony to honor your loved ones memory. It’s a way to say goodbye in your own way, on your own terms. I will work with you to make sure the ceremony reflects your loved one perfectly, while being supportive and mindful of the circumstances surrounding their passing. Religious, traditional or cultural elements can be included, as can anecdotes, music or visual tributes.
I offer the following Ceremonies:
Celebrations of life are fast replacing what is perceived as a traditional funeral or memorial service. More upbeat, they concentrate on paying tribute to a person’s life, by sharing the love they gave, and the impact they had on others, in a way which reflects their personality.
Interment, is the ceremony where the body is finally put to rest. It can take place at a time/location to suit loved ones.
Memorial Service, can be conducted anywhere (with the landowners permission), and at anytime. It has the same elements as a funeral, generally without the casket being present. Sometimes a preferred way of saying goodbye when a direct cremation has taken place.
A living funeral, described as the grandest celebration/party of all, is a celebration for someone with a life-limiting illness. It honors them while they are still present, to hear the eulogies, praise, and fairwells of family, friends.

Saying goodbye to a loved one is always sad, but instead of the funeral being focused on the loss, I aim to focus on their journey through life. How they inspired us and moulded us to become the people we are.
The greatest compliment I have ever received was ‘thank you Libby, that was brilliant. I think (he) would have really enjoyed that’.
I take great pride in my work and do not see my role as celebrant, as merely to write and. deliver a service. I aim to be supportive and compassionate to the family and friends I work with.

Such compassion shown
Stubbins and Hope funeral directors recommended Libby to us for my mums funeral. We can’t thank them enough for this as Libby was fantastic. From the first contact, to meeting the family and helping us all choose what memories to mention in the service, she showed such compassion and kindness as we struggled to deal with the news alongside having to make arrangements. Libby was genuinely interested in hearing about mums life and it made what could have been an emotional process strangely an easier one as we shared stories and photos with her. She made great suggestions like having a group what’s app chat to confirm details so that those who lived further away felt included in discussions and provided a draft speech in advance of the funeral day so we were reassured what would be said. On the day she helped support the whole family and made sure even the youngest members left the service feeling mums life had been celebrated. I can’t recommend Libby enough

A bespoke reflection and celebration of a very special life
We chose Libby to be the celebrant at our father’s funeral. Upon meeting her, we instantly knew that she was the right person. She was exceptionally professional, really caring and had a warm and compassionate nature.
