Hi, I'm Meg
I’m the smiley, chatty and relaxed celebrant (my couples’ words not mine!)
I am from Barnard Castle originally but currently live in Darlington with my husband Tom. I am a northern gal but I also enjoy travelling around and meeting new people!
I first discovered the wonderful world of celebrants in 2020 when my best friends asked if I would officiate their ceremony because of the limited guests allowed at their wedding.
Of course, I said “why not!”
What an honour it is to be trusted with something so important on one of the biggest days of their lives.
I am now lucky enough to write and officiate unique and authentic weddings, vow renewals and naming ceremonies for other couples and I’m LOVING it.
Everyone is different, every love story unique, so why should your ceremony be the same as everyone else’s?

What's my ceremony style?
I enjoy a relaxed ceremony which simply, yet beautifully, tells your story. The perfect amount of love and laughter throughout with details of how you met and dreams for the future as well as subtle humorous tails.
However, I am not afraid of a flash mob or a themed outfit either.
Overall, my greatest strength is my poetry, which my clients can use during the ceremony. This is a special way to remind your guests of your journey so far as a couple.
I love playing around with words and looking at their meanings.
For example: the name ‘Meg’ comes from the Greek origins meaning “pearl” so here are my pearls of wisdom…. choose personality over legality, a celebrant ceremony is a real representation of your love.

I am a people person, I enjoy talking to people from all different walks of life and having a good natter! I am really looking forward to meeting all my future clients and getting to know you all on a personal level, so that I can write ceremonies with your personalities and interests in mind.
All you need to do is be yourselves and I’ll do the rest!
As well as getting a celebrant, you will get a friend, who you can turn to when you need any event advice.
I am passionate about making my ceremonies as personal as possible, even down to the finer details. I have invested in a few craft machines and printers to help make any extra ceremony props we require (e.g. vow cards, parchment & special elements) and also offer my couples a wedding stationery service via my other business ‘The Ink and Foil Studio’.

I love a relaxed couple who are up for a laugh! If you like chatting over coffee & cake OR a G&T – I’m your celebrant!
I love nothing more than a couple who let me into their world and are open to suggestions so I can write something truly unique. I also like it when my couples think outside the box and take full advantage of having a celebrant-led ceremony. It helps when my couples are fully involved in the process with me, from initial meeting to couples quizzes to your wedding day, we’re in this together!
Personalised Ceremony Service from £600
This includes:
-A meeting to discuss your thoughts, ideas and plans for your wedding day (zoom, home or cocktails are good for me!)
-You will be provided with Meg’s ‘couples quiz’ so I can learn more details of your story & wedding plans.
-A bespoke ceremony script, tailored to your personalities and wishes, a script which tells your love story. You will get to read drafts and make amendments. Remember: I’m just the writer, it’s your story, be as honest as you can!
-You will be in contact with me throughout your planning, there for ceremony and general advice!
-All vow cards & reading cards included, designed to suit your theme.
-Vow writing help and advice.
-I’ll be there on the day to officiate your personal ceremony!
-After your day you will be provided with a keepsake folder.

Naming Ceremonies
Your little bundle of joy,

It’s even more magical

Been waiting for nine months,
the bond has now been tied.
The birth of a child is such a special occasion,
why not organise a naming celebration!?
Naming ceremonies are so lovely, they can be used to introduce your child to the rest of their family and community. You can even select ‘life guides’ to make promises to your child during the ceremony. It’s fantastic to get as many people involved in the ceremony as you feel comfortable. People in the past have often encouraged older siblings to take part in the ceremony e.g. hand prints, sand ceremonies. Readings can be included also- the sky’s the limit!

-A meeting with me over zoom to get know each other and your plans for your little one’s naming day!
-A ‘Family quiz’ to learn even more about your family’s story.
-I will get to work writing your personalised naming ceremony, I will send drafts for your to make comments. It’s a team effort!
-I include any vow cards & reading cards within the price.
-Help and advice for parent vows, symbolic elements and reading choices.
-I will be there on the day to officiate the ceremony, arrival no later than 1 hour before.
-A copy of your ceremony script will be created as a keepsake.
-Unlimited contact! Catch me on my mobile/email/video call.
Special Elements e.g. sand ceremonies, ribbon ceremonies can be discussed & explained at the initial meeting.

The joy of a having a new addition to the family is so incredible, I love being part of such a significant day in a families history.
I like being creative and making my scripts engaging, for all ages to enjoy. As a naming celebrant, I will meet your family, get to know you and write a script to fit your desires for the day. A naming or welcoming ceremony can be done at any location you choose. Special elements, readings and music can be discussed. I am happy to dress to fit your theme (especially Disney hint hint).
Renewal of Vows
Vow renewal ceremonies can be as creative as you like, the world is your oyster. I love it when my couples want to use their ceremony to celebrate, have fun together & their guests!

I’ll do my best to make you feel at ease on your special day and endeavour to create something you and your guests will remember forever. I’m a perfectionist and make sure everything from the script, poems and ceremony props are personalised in a way you are happy with. It’s YOUR ceremony- I’m there to make it happen & to make sure it runs smoothly.

Lovely Lady!
Meg is an absolutely wonderful celebrant, who made our wedding day as special and perfect as we’d hope.
Right from our first meeting with Meg, we knew that she was the right person for us. Her personalised ceremony script and poem were brilliant and all of our guests were blown away by her. She made sure she gave us everything we wanted and so much more!

So glad we found Meg!
Meg was our celebrant at our bigger ceremony after getting married with 14 people during covid. She made the ceremony so special and the lead up was so hassle free. Meg really got to know us before the day and had several meetings with us (and was always so attentive when I needed little questions answering). The script Meg had written totally represented us and our relationship. All the guests were so impressed and emotional during the ceremony. So glad we made the choice to have Meg at our ceremony!

If anyone is looking for a personalised ceremony , I cannot recommend Meg highly enough. The thought and preparation, that she put in to our daughters wedding, was amazing, down to every last little detail. She had written a lovely poem, that had us all laughing and crying , and the service itself was so professional, yet friendly. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the ceremony, we were all so impressed. Thank you Meg , you made a special day even more special ♡♡♡
