Welcome to True to You Celebrancy. #yourdayyourway is the only rule!! Unique ceremonies created with you, for you. My name is Deborah and I am a celebrant registered with The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants (FPC). I am able to conduct Wedding ceremonies (please note that the legal registering of a wedding will still need to be arranged by the couple joining together), Civil Partnership Blessings, Baby Naming Ceremonies, funerals or any other kind of ceremony to mark those important transitions in life. Why use a celebrant? In answer to this many families, couples and individuals do not identify as having any defined religious belief or alignment. What many people do have, are core symbolic beliefs, cultural practices and traditions and personal preferences. As we journey through life there are key moments that are held as significant and which invite a formal 'marking' or acknowledging. Some welcome new life, some the joining of individuals and families, some reconfirming commitments or milestones, or sometimes saying goodbye to loved ones. These occasions are traditionally marked with a formal celebration or officiated gathering. A celebrant is able to help you design and lead the celebration as you want it to be, using the symbols and traditions that are both personal and important to you. It is an honour and a privilege to work with individuals, couples and families and to hear your unique stories, hopes and requirements. In doing so I am able to bespoke a ceremony that is 'True To You'.
At True to You Celebrancy I take pride in writing unique ceremonies that are written with you, for you. I officiate at Wedding Ceremonies, Wedding Vow Renewals, Naming Ceremonies and Funerals.
Weddings: Have the ceremony that YOU want, where YOU want it. Many couples choose to have some form of symbolic ritual embedded in their ceremony. I specialise in hand fasting, sand ceremonies, jumping the broom and more. What gives me great pleasure, is sitting with a couple, listening to their personal story, and designing a symbolic ritual that is special to them and which reflects their unique journey. Let’s talk location. Indoors, outdoors, woodland, beach, mountain, underwater (and yes, I am PADI qualified!), Tipi or barn. The only limitation is your imagination.
Wedding Vow Renewals: A significant wedding anniversary, renewing vows that were made abroad back home, in front of family and friends who were unable to make the original ceremony, marking the end of a challenging period in your marriage. Whatever your reason for ‘doing it all again’, at True to You Celebrancy I will design a ceremony with you, that will be just as special as your first, if not even better!
Naming Ceremonies: Many people do not identify with any formal religion. A naming ceremony is a popular alternative to a Christening. It is the perfect way to formally name and welcome a new baby into the family. Equally, a naming ceremony may suit a couple where both share a different religion, and where they wish to blend elements of both religions into a ceremony. Naming Ceremonies can also be used to formally welcome older adopted children into a family or to celebrate a new name after gender transitioning.
Funerals: Where the deceased did not identify with a formal religion, a celebrant led funeral can be a sensitive and dignified goodbye. I am a mental health nurse of 24 years. Working with families in times of distress has been a lifelong work and passion for me. I will sit with you and listen to all the stories you have to tell me about your loved one. The life stages, the achievements, the sad times, the happy times, the funny stories and sometimes, the downright ridiculous stories. This enables me to keep your loved one central to the ceremony, and to get the right blend of happier memories alongside a sense of gravitas. It is my undertaking to help you have a ceremony that will, in the fullness of time, become a comforting memory.
Debbie conducted the service for my mums funeral with warmth and feeling and was a great help to me and my dad throughout the process, nothing was too much. Highly recommend Debbie as a celebrant.

Our wedding day was better than both of us could have imagined and we both had a ball, and both families all said how wonderful you were and how beautifully you spoke during the ceremony.
So thank you for everything, you really started the day off great and it was a pleasure working with you!

Deborah was amazing in every way and her guidance, enthusiasm and aura of calm made planning our Wedding day as much of a joy as the actual day itself. She took the time to really get to know us and our family and this was reflected in the beautiful ceremony she wrote for us. It was so personal and unique, all our guests commented how wonderfully emotional it was ❤. We can't thank you enough Deborah, our Wedding ceremony was the perfect intimate celebration of love that we hoped for and this was thanks to you

Farmer Copley's, Pontefract. | July 2019
Deborah was the celebrant for our son's naming ceremony. Nothing was too much and Deborah shared lots of her time with us to ensure that everything was perfect. As a result, the ceremony was personal and meaningful, and was the perfect way to formally welcome our son into the world. Thank you Deborah!
