Hi, I'm Po
I am a down-to-earth celebrant that not only writes incredibly imaginative cermonies but also delivers them with panache; by actively listening to everything that my client wants.
I will write a ceremony script for you that captures and celebrates your full love story in an utterly unique way. We will talk, we will email, you will send me stories, snippets, funny memories and mental images that I will weave into your wedding and delight both you and your guests. I will send you drafts to approve, in plenty of time for additions and advise you on how long the ceremony might be.
What's my ceremony style?
As I have years and years of public speaking experience, I make an instant impression and I don’t even need a microphone! I am clear and loud and have real warmth in my voice. People always enjoy my ceremonies because I have great delivery.
We can add music, poetry, prose, scripts, dances, whatever wonderful and potentially crazy things you, and your family and friends, will do to mark your wedding.
This wedding can be in your back garden, in the park, the woods, up a tower, on the beach, wherever you desire. We can be outdoors, indoors or even under water (I might need a refresher course in scuba diving for this one).

I will be warm and considerate to everyone’s feelings and build everything around you with sensitive, compassion and consideration. When I deliver a ceremony, everybody responds, I gather up all of the attention and turn it to the couple, so the love that brought them together shines out of my words and their faces.
What do I offer?
Weddings
Ideal couple? Two people in love! Two people ready to jump off that precipice and share their love with the world! I love outdoor ceremonies and I am very happy to pull on my wellies. If you are non-religious and look to science, reason, empathy, and compassion in order to live an ethical and meaningful life, then you’re in the right place for a wedding. I really love the idea of ritual and symbolism in a ceremony. Handfastings are so powerful in their own right, and I have watched sand blendings in both complete silence and also in a storm of joy. These parts of the ceremony have genuine power and also create a beautiful keepsake. The depth of feeling is intense! I am a huge music fan and love, love, love live music and festivals. Festival weddings rock!
The fee for the ceremony includes all of the preparation; the script writing, initial meeting, first draft, edits, rehearsal, the day itself and a presentation script. I help you choose the extras like songs, music, readings, making sure the ceremony tells and reflects the story of your love. You would read the draft script, give me feedback and then check the final script. I present you with a beautiful keepsake containing the wedding ceremony as part of the fee, which currently stands at £550. If there are any additional expenses you would be notified in advance, for example if you wanted a sunrise wedding, I might need to stay overnight the night before. You would need to pay a deposit to secure the booking, then we would arrange our initial meeting, whether in person or online.

I will write you the most beautiful, imaginative ceremony with as many or as few elements as you desire. If you shy away from the limelight I will do the majority of the talking. If you love the attention I will hand it all over to you.
The ceremony can include many things like promises (or vows), music, readings or songs, but it can include any other exciting ideas of your own too! You might have friends who play musical instruments, or family that love reading loud, or you might absolutely need to include your pet rabbit into the ceremony. One of the amazing advantages of a humanist wedding is that it can happen where you want, when you want and will say what you want.
Unfortunately Midwinter Celebrant is not available for Naming Ceremonies.
Renewal of Vows
My ideal couple – what a question. You are all so different! What I love about vow renewals is the refreshment of the love, the restarting, the reaffirming, and often those who have been together a long time are so shy and so coy about their love, like teenagers!

Funerals
I write bespoke ceremonies with the family at the forefront of the writing. We capture lives in as many words and forms as we can in the timeframe, and I work sensitively with the family towards this ceremony.
For £200 you get an extended family meeting to talk through the ceremony and the person’s life. At the ceremony I deliver expressively with professionalism. After the ceremony I deliver a presentation copy of the script.
