As an independent celebrant, I focus upon your individual wishes to offer a unique ceremony specifically crafted, with you at the heart. You can choose your ceremony venue, timing, music, readings, promises wording, themes, rituals and symbols, involving and including whoever you wish to, in what ever way you see appropriate, ensuring the ceremony is 'your ceremony', reflecting your values, relationship and journey.
I offer a personal, professional and flexible approach to creating and delivering your ceremony.
What can I offer? I have over 20 years teaching experience and a vast array of experiences in public speaking, creative writing and performance arts. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Religion, Ethics and Philosophy, a PGCE from Homerton College, Cambridge University and have been a manager, in a secondary school, with leadership experience for over 12 years. As a teacher of 'Equality and Diversity' qualifications, I endorse, promote and respect the diversity of humanity and expressions of love celebrated in modern ceremonies. An important aspect of my service is the ability to reflect a wide range of world views, including humanist, atheist or agnostic views and tone or to embrace and include religious or spiritual elements, rituals or symbolism, depending upon your personal requirements.
My motivation to become a modern officiate was the discovery of what a 'celebrant' offers and the flexibility to completely personalise those milestones. My husband and I, had a traditional wedding, unaware of the 'modern day flexibility and alternatives' to the culturally linked 'church wedding'. This is one of the main motivations to become an independent celebrant, to offer choice to truly reflect the couples relationship, love and views. We would have included our precious samoyed pet 'JJ' as the ring bearer, rather than a fleeting guest for a brief photo shoot. Additionally the chance to have been married on 'White Hart Lane' football pitch would also have reflected my, and now 'our', combined passion for football and Tottenham Hotspur FC. Perhaps a vow renewal needs to be planned!
It is so exciting, for DMG Ceremonies, to be able to offer and embrace the flexibility, alternatives and freedom available to clients today, through an independent celebrant led ceremony.
Family and couple ceremonies are my focus, embracing and delivering weddings, elopement celebrations, , vow renewal, naming ceremonies and blended families ceremonies. Your ceremony can take place where you wish, from beach, barn, garden, football stadium, castle or glamping bell tent to hotel, golf course, field, mountain or festival. Embracing secular, religious or spiritual elements, rituals or symbolism to reflect your views including hand fasting, sand ceremonies. unity candle, jumping the broom, crown ceremony or other personalised symbolism for love, hope, strength and commitment.
